Тематика письменных контрольных работ по дисциплине «Иностранный язык (английский)»

Методические рекомендации студентам по выполнению контрольной работы.

Цель контрольной работы: проследить общую языковую компетенцию студентов указанного уровня обучения.

Задачи:

  1. Проследить уровень грамматических навыков, полученных студентами в процессе обучения;
  2. Проследить уровень навыков перевода текста с английского языка на русский по тематике специальности.

Контрольная работа состоит из восьми заданий. Семь отслеживают грамматическую компетенцию обучаемых, восьмое-работа с текстом. Кроме того, студентам предлагается написать сочинение о себе.

Грамматические темы, предлагаемые студентам, охватывают следующий материал: формы глагола  to be, притяжательный падеж существительного, множественное число существительного, артикль, вопросительные предложения, видо-временные формы глагола.

При выполнении контрольной работы студенты должны выполнить следующие задания:  переписать предложения, употребляя требуемую форму притяжательного местоимения, заполняя пропуски артиклями, используя множественное число существительных, притяжательный падеж существительных, требуемую форму глагола   to be , а также прочитать и перевести предложенный текст и задать требуемое  количество вопросов разных типов. Кроме того, требуется написать сочинение о себе (15 – 20 предложений) Контрольная сдается в печатном виде. Номер варианта определяется по последней цифре зачётной книжки (1,5,9 – первый вариант; 2,6,0 – второй вариант; 3,7 – третий вариант; 4,8 – четвёртый вариант)

Самостоятельная работа студентов-заочников – главный вид их учебной деятельности. Она предназначена для закрепления и углубления знаний, полученных во время аудиторной работы. При подготовке к зачёту, студенты должны:

  1. активно владеть наиболее употребительной (базовой) грамматикой и основными грамматическими явлениями, характерными для профессиональной речи;
  2. читать и понимать со словарем специальную литературу по широкому и узкому профилю специальности;

Усвоению подлежат:

  1.  определение основного содержания текста по знакомым опорным словам, интернациональной лексике, географическим названиям и т.п.,
  2.  определение принадлежности слова к той или иной части речи по порядку слов в предложении и морфологии,
  3.  распознавание значения слов по контексту,
  4.  восприятие смысловой структуры текста (определение смысла каждого абзаца),
  5.  выделение главной и второстепенной информации.

На зачёт выносится беседа по контрольной работе ( по грамматическим вопросам, изученным на практических занятиях ), а также беседа по разговорным темам курса: About myself, My working day, My University, My native town, My country.

The United Kingdom has a developed mixed private-and public-enterprise economy and ranks among the top industrial countries in growth rates, productivity, and competitiveness. The gross national product (GNP) is growing faster than the population. The GNP per capita is among that of most other European countries.

The state sector was reduced during the 1980s and 1990s owing to policies of privatization, or publicly owned corporations. There was also an improvement in the standard of living. Unemployment and inflation rates were gradually reduced but remained high.

MY WORKING DAY.

On week days I usually get up nearly at seven o’clock. I do not like to get up early, but I have to, because I have a lot of work to do during the day.

I do my morning exercises, make my bed, wash myself, dress and go to the kitchen to have breakfast. My mother usually prepares breakfast for me, but sometimes I do it myself. I do not like big breakfasts, I prefer a cup of coffee and a sandwich.

Then I go to school. It is rather far from my house and I go there by bus. I have classes till 4 o’clock. Then I come home and have dinner.

After it I do my homework and do some work about the house. I sweep the floor, dust the furniture and clean the carpets with the vacuum-cleaner. Sometimes my mother asks me to go shopping or to help her in the kitchen.

After it I have free time. I go for a walk with my friend, or watch TV, or read books, or play computer games. Then I have supper with my family. I like evenings very much because all of us get together after work and study and have the opportunity to talk and to discuss our family affairs.

I usually go to bed at about eleven o’clock.

MY FRIEND.

I have a very good friend. Her name is Ann. Friends are very important in our life. I think one cannot live without friends. The most important thing for being good friends, to my mind, is to be ready to help one another in any situation, nevertheless how difficult it is, to support one another and to solve all the problems together.

My friend and I always do our best to help one another. We discuss all our troubles and try to find the best decision in any situation. My friend is a very good, kind and clever girl. We often spend our free time together. It is not very easy now, because both of us are very busy.

My friend is going to become a doctor. Our future professions are different and the subjects we have to study are different too, but we like to work together and to help one another in our study.

When we have some free time, we go for walks, read and discuss books, watch films, go to discoes or play computer games. Playing computer games is our hobby. Both of us are fond of sport. We go in for swimming and often go to the swimming pool together. We are football fans and we like to watch and discuss football matches on TV or to go to the stadium. I love my friend very much. I think she is a true friend. Our friendship is very dear to me and I try to do my best to be a good friend too.

MY FLAT

We live in a new 16-storeyed block of flats in Strogino. It’s situated in a very picturesque place not far from the Moskwa River. There’s a big supermarket on the ground floor and it’s very convenient to do everyday shopping.

Our flat is on the fifth floor. It’s very comfortable and well-planned. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water and a telephone. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat. There’s also a balcony and we can enjoy a lovely view of the river.

The largest room in our flat is the living room and we use it as a dining room and as a sitting room. In the middle of the room there is a big table and six chairs round it. Opposite the window there is a wall unit with lots of books, a TV-set and a video cassette recorder. There are two comfortable armchairs and a small coffee table in the right-hand corner. There is also a sofa and an electric fire in our living room. We like the living room best of all, because in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk and rest.

My room is the smallest room in our flat, but it is very cosy and light. There is a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, an armchair and several bookshelves in my room. There is a thick carpet on the floor. The walls in my room are light-brown and there are some big posters on them. I like my room very much, but from time to time I change it round. I quite often move the bed and change the posters on the wall.
