Tips for Travelling Abroad
Here are some quick tips for travelers:
Security & Health
1. Visit your doctor first. Most package tours contain medical insurance. If it’s not included into a package tour then get it. Make sure that you have all the vaccinations.
2. Make copies of your passport. If somebody steals your passport or you lose it you may try to prove your citizenship using the copies. Leave a copy of your passport at home or with someone you trust.
3. Make an electronic copy which you can store in your email account.
Money
4. Look up the rate of exchange before you go.
5. Make sure your credit card works in the country where you go.
6. Go to a bank or cash machine in the country you’re visiting. The conversion centers in the airport or around the city are too expensive.
7. Always have local cash. Not every place accepts credit cards. Especially important places like trains or buses.
8. Call your bank or credit card provider. Sometimes when you make a bank operation from another place like Bali, for example, your bank may think that it may be a case of fraud and they turn off your card as a security measure.
9. Check the country’s entrance / exit fees. Some countries have such fees for the travelers who enter or leave the country. These fees are not included in airfare.

10. Find out local traditions and laws not to get into a trouble.
11. Check the weather forecast for the period of your holiday to pack the right clothes.
12. Buy tickets for places you want to visit beforehand. When you buy in advance you may get a better offer.
13. Get guidebooks. Guidebooks usually include maps, some information about the sites and also phrasebooks sometimes. Moreover, the guidebooks at the venue are usually more expensive.
14. Download apps before you travel. Avoid downloading charges from your wireless carrier and get your apps before you leave.
15. Search for events while you’re at home. Fun things like festivals, ceremonies and other events. Also note a few national dishes you may try at the venue. You don’t want to miss the experience to taste some local food.
