Winter holidays marathon
Сценарий внеклассного мероприятия по английскому языку для учащихся 7 классов.
Цели:
Обобщение изученного материала по теме «Рождество и Новый год в Великобритании», актуализация лексических навыков, тренировка навыков чтения, аудирования и письма;
Развитие творческого воображения и догадки, речемышления;
Воспитание уважения к культурным традициям страны изучаемого языка.
Оборудование:
карточки с текстами стихов и песен, открытки для поздравлений, наборы предложений для составления текстов, презентация о рождественских и новогодних традициях в Великобритании и викторина по предъявленному материалу в электронном виде, карточки с кроссвордами, искусственные ели для конкурса, елочные игрушки, видео о встрече Нового года в Лондоне, записи мелодий для песен и танца.
Ход состязания.
Teacher: Hello, everybody! Who likes singing, dancing, having fun and being together with friends? Today we will find out how people celebrate New Year and Christmas in G.B.
We start our marathon.
There will be two teams today and three judges will help me to check up your answers. Lets start our competition with a small presentation about celebrating Christmas and New Year in Great Britain. ( предъявление презентации )

Your second task : guess who is it or what is it.
1. He is an old man who brings a lot of gifts in his bag.
2. Its green and brown. People put presents under it.
3. It is a colourful paper tube. We can have a lot of fun with it.
4. It is a greeting that people send to their friends and family at Christmas time.
5. You can see it at night high in the sky.
6. Its a round object. People decorate a Christmas tree with them.
7. Its an object which makes a sound when a sleigh moves.
8. Watch a small movie and guess who is this person and what is she speaking about.( Queens speech, 1957, televised)
9. Watch and say what is happening and where is it. (New Years night on Trafalgar Square)
Teacher: Well done, teams! You get your toys and sweets for decorating your trees.
We continue our competition and you get a new task. You have some stripes with phrases on them. They are mixed. You must put the words in logical order and read the poem.
Merry, merry Christmas
Is likely to come.

Snow in the window<
Much confetti.
Bright-blue, red and yellow
Lights on the tree.
Smiling eyes and faces,
Sweet music in the hall.

Teacher: well, you are really clever. Lets do another task with the poems. Try to fill gaps in this poem.
I wish I were…

Is wishing he were me,
For Ill be here when … comes,
But where will the Snowman …?

Teacher: Now the last task with poems. Act a scene reciting a poem. You have some time to prepare.
Santa Claus:
See all the presents by the Christmas tree.

Short ones, too.
( Hands close together )
And here is a round one
( Makes a circle with arms )

Teacher: Now time for Christmas crossword. can you find the words of the Christmas objects?

Teacher: Would you like to play a game and see who can draw a snowman with the shut eyes.

Teacher: Your snowmen are nice and funny. But the snowmen on these greetings cards are nice too. Can you write a greeting on these cards and congratulate your mates. ( см. прил.)
Teacher: Your greetings cards are fantastic. And you have enough toys to decorate your trees. Lets see who will do it quicker. Decorating the tree each member of the teams must say a word connected with Christmas or New year. Lets start the race.
Teacher: Our trees are very beautiful now. We can sing songs and dance. Which team will do it better? You must learn the movements, sing the song and dance. You have some minutes to prepare. ( Music < We wish you a Merry Christmas>)
