Введение
Данная тема «Кино» входит в раздел «Кино. Театр. Музыка.», изучаемый на втором курсе во втором полугодии.
Практически невозможно представить жизнь современного человека без кино, которое открывает двери в удивительный мир актерского и режиссерского мастерства и научно-технического прогресса, выраженного в ярких спецэффектах и новых компьютерных технологиях.
Изучение данной темы позволяет активизировать познавательную деятельность суворовцев, формировать и совершенствовать навыки устной (диалогической и монологической) и письменной речи.
Предлагаемый лексико-грамматический материал направлен на расширение активного словаря учащихся и закрепление полученных ЗУН по грамматическим темам курса.
Представленные задания в разделе “Writing” помогают сориентировать учащихся в написании сочинений “A film review” и “Describing a famous person”.

CINEMA
There was a time people knew what to do to enjoy themselves. They played different games, sang, played musical instruments. Nowadays we can get entertained by the TV, the radio, the theatre or the cinema. Cinema is one of the most popular entertainments in our life.
In the 19th century the Lumiere brothers made their first three-minute films. These films were demonstrated to the public on the 28th of December in 1895. Since then the era of cinematography has begun. It rapidly spread all over the world and became one of the most popular arts and entertainments. For a long time endless discussions were held whether the cinema is an art or just an entertainment.
Nowadays the cinema is considered to be one of the main contemporary arts. We can call the 20th century the century of cinematography. The cinema combines such arts as painting, literature, theatre, architecture, music. A lot of people of different occupations are involved in film production. They are screenwriters, producers, directors, cameramen, composers, costme designers, actors, actors, actresses and many others.
Pioneers of the Russian cinema were Protozanov, Gardin and later Eisenstein, Pudovkin, Dovzhenko. The first films in the west were mainly melodramas or comedies. In Russia they very often were historical films or screen versions of the best novels.
First, films were silent and black-and-white. At that time the world was crazy about Charlie. Charlie was created and performed by the famous English actor and film director Charles Spencer Chaplin. His Charlie was small and clumsy yet kind-hearted, generous and brave. He attracted the hearts of ordinary people in different countries. Later sound and colour were introduced into films.
Nowadays there are wonderful comedies, love stories, science fiction, horror films, detective stories, historical films on.
But cinema is becoming less popular. A lot of people prefer to stay at home and watch video films or TV.

A return to the big screen
Following the realise of the special edition Star Wars trilogy, director George Lucas has produced yet another science-fiction film to add to the list. Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace continues the exciting tale of an adventure through the galaxy. Needless to say, the set is more creative and magnificent than ever before.
This chapter of the classic story follows life on a far away and peaceful planet, called Naboo, which is under threat from the demanding Trade Federation. As ruler of Naboo, young but wise Queen Amidala has to join forces with her supporters in order to prevent her kingdom from being destroyed by the dishonest federation. The Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kanobi are needed to resolve the arguments with the Trade Federation.
Along the way, the courageous knights meet young and rebellious Anakin Skywalker and when the tough battle takes off, the Queen and her followers are obliged to take on the Federation and fight against the battle droids, whilst the experienced Jedi Knights try to defeat the wicked Darth Maul.
Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn) and Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) give outstanding performances as the Jedi Knights with a good attempt at acting from Jake Lloyd as the young Skywalker. The main treat of the film is the fact and furious pod race – a breathtaking action sequence.
Even though viewers may not have seen the previous films in the series, this episode is one not to be missed. The brilliant action scenes and special effects combined with the eye-catching costumes make this film a gripping spectacle. It is a wonderful mixture of adventure, conflict and humour. Audiences will no doubt be fascinated by this film. It is a film everyone will enjoy.

Настоящая разработка выполнена в соответствии с рекомендациями методиста училища.
Данная последовательность представленного в работе материала выбрана в соответствии с современной методикой преподавания английского языка: учетом коммуникативной компетентности, коммуникативной направленности и логической последовательности в выборе и структурировании заданий. Так, в начале предлагается изучение тематической лексики, затем следует этап закрепления и активного применения лексики в упражнениях различного типа (устных и письменных) с постепенным переходом к чтению текстов. После чтения текстов следует речевая работа, связанная с более углубленной и целостной отработкой материала и подготовкой к итоговым работам – обзор фильма и описание знаменитости. В процессе подготовки к итоговым видам работы большую помощь могут оказать разнообразные упражнения, игровые задания и викторины.
Содержание материала разноуровневое, что позволяет решить проблему дифференцированного обучения и индивидуального подхода в изучении иностранного языка.
При составлении методической разработки были использованы современные учебные пособия и аутентичный материал ( газеты и журналы).
