1. The university is holding a conference devoted to teaching career. The topic of your presentation is “The mediocre teacher tells. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires”. Express your point of view on what makes a “good” teacher, support it with the examples.
2. At the students’ conference you are to comment a widely-spread stereotype that teaching is a purely female occupation and isn’t suitable for men. Agree or disagree with this stereotype and support your opinion with the arguments.

8. You’ve been taking a strong medicine to treat one of your health problems which had a number of side effects on your body. Speak to the manager of pharmaceutical company who had manufactured it describing the problem in detail.
9. You are a high school teacher. Prepare the speech you are to give to your pupils concerning the harm of smoking and the threat of alcohol- and drug-addiction.
10. You are a high school teacher. You are planning to go hiking with your 10th form pupils. Give them useful recommendations of how to render the first aid and describe what they must have in their medical cabinet.
11. You are a school teacher. Before letting your pupils go on their winter vacation remind them of the forthcoming epidemics of flu and give advice on the precautions to be taken to avoid the disease.
12. You are an editor of a health column of the university web-site. Tell your readers about the harmful effect of stress on human health and give recommendations on how to reduce vulnerability to stress and overcome seasonal depression.
13. You are a British journalist working in Ukraine. Prepare a brief report to your editor on how the health care system works in Ukraine. Give a reasonable balance of positive features and objective criticism.
14. Lots of students nowadays go overseas to practice English. As a teacher tell your students about the health care systems in the USA and the UK and give them recommendations on what they should do if they happen to fall ill there.
15. You are a high school teacher. Prepare the speech you are to give to the parents at the forthcoming parent-teacher meeting concerning the significant role of sports and physical culture in the up-bringing of their children.
16. Your American pen-friend is thinking of taking up some physical exercise. Give him/her pieces of advice of what kind of sport to take and why.
17. Next English class you are to make a presentation about a famous Ukrainian sportsman. Choose the one whose personality appeals to you and tell about his/her achievements in sports.
18. You are an editor of a sports column of the university web-site. Tell your readers about the most popular sports and games in Great Britain, the USA and Ukraine.
19. You are the teacher of Physical Education. At your today’s class you are going to teach the students to play a new game. Describe the rules of the game in detail.
20. Speak about the book you’ve read this term. Dwell upon its plot, main characters and express your own opinion of the book.
