- The author, the title, genre, the general stylistic tinge.
- The main concern
- Composition( narration, from… person siglular, characters dialogs, etc.
- Logical division: summary of each logical part(don’t forget to mention the main characters and the scene firtst) + elements of plot( e.g The 1st log. Part , which coincedes with the 1st physical paragraph and the exposition of the text, gives the information….etc, / or) The line(s) “…..” may be considered to the climax of the present text)
- Plot structure (Open,closed)
- The conceptual information(the idea)

It’s a common knowledge that any literary text is based on the principles of poetic structure cohesion. These are; ………( enumerate them)

- First I ‘d like to comment on the principle of analogy and contrast. On the level of macro-components it is realized through the opposition of the images( e.g Tom + supporting images; the dog, the pinchbug, etc) vs congregation ( + supporting images ; the prayer , the atmosphere etc)
- Then speak on the SDs used to create/ grouped around the opposed images) e.g To create the image of / to characterize smb/ to support the impression of… etc. the author makes use of / resorts to/ uses etc, the SD of … which consists in … ( to provide the definition with the words from the sentence/ passage you are commenting on)
2. Now let’s have a close look at the principle of recurrence.
- The most powerful and significant means of realization of this principle is the recurrence of the key word. In my opinion/… the word”…” is the key word in this text since….( provide the explanation of your choice) . (Note : It may be used only once in the text but convey the idea which is the leitmotif of the extract, key idea)
- Another means of the manifestation of this principle is the recurrence of certain semes. ( then speak on the lexico- semantic groups. Don’t forget to start with “ Since the text deals with/ ….etc)
- The principle of Recurrence on the lexical level is supported by a number of synonyms;

- On the syntactic level the principle is realized in the patterns of parallelism ( examples from the text, polysyndeton(….) and gradation(…)
- Antonyms are the opposition of semes also present special interest to us.

3. The principle of incomplete representation finds its most vivid manifestation in the use of poetic details.
