Outstanding People of Great Britain

There are many outstanding people in Great Britain who made the pride of the country. Among them, we can mention the names of the greatest world famous writers: Shakespeare, Byron, Agatha Christie, Conan Doyle and others; such prominent scientists as Newton, Faraday, Darwin, Edison etc.; famous painters Turner, Gainsborough; outstanding politicians W. Churchill and M. Thatcher and many others.
I’d like to tell you about William Shakespeare (26 April 1564 – 23 April 1616), an English poet and playwright. He was widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. His surviving works consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
The most famous of Shakespeare`s works were Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, and Macbeth. His plays remain highly popular today.

I fully agree with the words of this famous politician. Success is not a miracle, it is hard work combined with persistence, enthusiasm, readiness to accept failures and to go forward. The life of all outstanding people proves this. Many of them achieved success working hard, going from failure to failure.

It’s nice that you want to become a famous sportsman. But you must remember that success can be achieved by hard work. You must forget about tasty food, late hours, discos. You should keep fit, spend hours in gyms. You will have failures and learn to overcome difficulties without loss of enthusiasm. If you are ready, come on!

Certainly, there’s a great difference between a famous person and outstanding one. It is easier to become famous. One can be a famous actor, painter, politician known to everybody. To my mind, an outstanding person is a person who contributed to the success and happiness of the whole mankind. Famous people are numerous, outstanding are few.
