ʻʻYoung leaders for Europeʼʼ

We are glad to invite you to the Training Course “Young leaders for Europe”.
This "Young leaders for Europe" training course aims to train youth workers and youth
leaders in facilitating international and intercultural youth encounters. Participants in this
project plan to work in Youth Exchange projects and other intercultural encounters and need competences in this area of work. It is very important to enable them to actively involve young people in international projects, facilitate non-formal educational activities, to work in multicultural groups, to promote inclusion, cultural diversity and other Programme priorities and objectives, as well as to manage projects efficiently. Finally, it is essential for them to know and understand the necessary health and safety regulations that have to be conducted prior and during an international Youth Exchange.

Objectives:
To develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes of youth workers and youth
leaders as facilitators within international youth exchanges and intercultural encounters;
To develop and improve skills for using methods as a facilitator in a multicultural
context;
To raise aware about quality aspects of international youth work such as European
dimension, active participation, non-formal education etc.;
To raise awareness and learn the ways to ensure active participation of young people
during preparation, implementation and evaluation youth projects;
To reflect on participants’ experiences and create recommendations for management of
next projects within the Youth in Action Program;
To share best practice in European youth work in EU and Eastern Partnership countries;
To develop positive attitudes and approaches towards work in multicultural Youth
Exchanges;
To develop future Youth Exchanges jointly.
Participant Profile
The participants coming to this TC should be youth or social workers actively involved in
international and/or local youth work, dealing especially with volunteering projects.
Participants are expected to have an open-minded and positive working attitude and to take part actively and fully in the programme.

Venue, accommodation and food
The training course will be held in a hostel outside the capital (Baku). Participants will be staying in shared rooms with 3-5 others in the same building as the seminar room and the dining room. At the venue there will be Internet available. Organizers will provide participants with food three times per day.
We strongly recommend participants to inform the organizers about any special needs of participants such as dietary, vegetarian or any other kind of special needs.
Checklist/ What to bring
Drinks and food from your country and region and any other items that may help you
to present your country during the intercultural evening.
No PowerPoint presentations will be allowed due to time restrictions;
Flyers, brochures, promotional materials, etc., to present your organisation to the
other participants;
All invoices, tickets and boarding tags related to your travel and visa for
reimbursements;
Health and Social insurance documents;
Comfortable clothes;
Towel and bathroom items;
Medicine you need regularly.
Travel Arrangements
Participants are expected to arrive on January 13th 2014. Departure is foreseen for January
20th 2014 after breakfast.
The travel expenses from your country to the course will be reimbursed on presentation of the relevant receipts. Only the participants who attend the entire training course can be reimbursed.
Your travel costs will be 70% reimbursed upon presentation of requested documents if the maximums are not exceeded.
We request you to arrange your journeys in the most economical manner possible and to make use of any available reduced tariffs. Return tickets must be purchased before the start of the journey (otherwise they are not reimbursed!)
In the frames of the Training Course the reimbursement will be done only for travel expenses incurred according the rules given below:
Your travel expenses will be reimbursed only upon presentation of documentary
evidence of the sum actually paid: original invoice. We will photocopy the tickets
you will still need for returning and will keep the already used originals.
Electronic tickets will only be reimbursed on receipt proof of payment (invoice,
paper of booking/purchase printed from internet, copy of credit card-slip showing the
transfer of the money for the ticket, payment confirmation from internet) and on
presentation of the boarding pass for the outward journey.
Note, that the booking paper alone is not enough to prove your travel expenses. You
should present as well a bill. Keep all original travel documents you get during your
trip: boarding passes, bills, slips, tickets etc., because you absolutely need them for
getting the reimbursement!
Return tickets have to be purchased before the start of your journey.
Taxi fares cannot be reimbursed.
Maximum budget limit for international travel costs (incl. baggage, fees, etc.)
In case all the relevant documents are properly presented and budget is not exceeded, you should get 70% reimbursement of your travel costs (from your home town till the venue of the course).

Reimbursement will be done in Euro. Valid documents must have the
Date, name of the traveller, destinations of the travel and the bill has to be completely clear for the Azeri Accounting (it must be readable, understandable in English).
Visa Information
For expenses claimed in other currencies than Euro, the conversion will be сarried out on the basis of the official exchange rate of the European Commission on the date of settlement.
