Prototype models and composition

Design layout of main and secondary pages isn’t uniform and differs by width (main – 980px, secondary – 1000px), order of menu items and possible presence of menu. It’s clearly visible by covering layout of main or secondary page.

From section to section composition and structure of layout is greatly differ and bouncing.

Equivalent by context elements differs graphically on the same page or changing from page to page.

Pages of EMC+ have done by another grid and with absolutely other composition. Generally in the process of transferring in different site sections you can give an expression, that you are on different web sites of the same firm ( partly it’s true).

Recommendation: relink prototype model of main and all secondary pages in one whole unifying prototype model with all-in-one structure and uniform arrangement of blocks (from page to page blocks don’t change their arrangement on the page and always are the same by style).

Styles

Graphical highlighting of active elements conditions doesn’t keep. The presence of 3 graphical conditions, that are differ from each other, is necessary for links and other active elements:

  1. active;
  2. inactive;
  3. appears when putting the mouse cursor / in focus

For example, text link must be underlined and differ from the text by color in active condition, but when you place the mouse cursor on it, link may become lighter and underlining can be removed.

Many menu items and texts performed as images, which are extremely affects on readability and search visibility of web site.

There are 2 main type faces on this web site:

  2. Arial, Helvetica, Sans-serif


Taking in account huge dimensions of text information, recommended to use font with hair-strokes in case of working with long text for rising of it’s readability.

For example, in property page «Points of view», on the page «“Production and solutions”»/«Security» head-lines of tabs are different by font sizes in left part of block.

There are frequently covering images in interfaces, that is positive for perception of it, but covering images misinform users in some cases ( photo of Formula One, girls in cyber – glasses and etc.)
