Lord of the flies
Task 1
Two boys met each other in a lagoon on a beach of deserted island. One called Ralph, another one called Piggy. They were so frightened because their plane crashed in thick jungle on a deserted island in the ocean (the plane was shot down it was the middle of the war). They were trying to find others and after some time they found other boys who were almost the same age as they were. Boys decided to choose the leader of the group. There was a competition between one guy called Jack and Ralph. However, Ralph had won. The boys decided to explore the island and Ralph, Jack and other guy called Simon were sent to do it.
Task 2
Ralph is a fair-haired twelve-year-old English boy. A leader who is popular among the other guys. The novels protagonist Ralph attempts to coordinate the boys efforts to build a miniature civilization on the island until they can be rescued.
Piggy chubby, intellectual, wears thick glasses. He is not so popular and even unnoticeable. Piggy represents the scientific, rational side of civilization.
Jack -The novels antagonist, one of the older boys stranded on the island. Jack becomes the leader of the hunters. Jack, adept at manipulating the other boys, represents the instinct of savagery within human beings, as opposed to the civilizing instinct Ralph represents.
Task 3
Task 1
After explorers had returned Ralph asked to choose hunters and also to use shell to determine who will speak. Jack agreed. Piggy told everyone that it was not safe to be on the island and nobody knew about planes crashing. That is why Ralph suggested building a large signal fire on the top of mountain. Also it was suggested to choose volunteers to keep the fire. However, disorganized efforts to rekindle the fire, the boys set a swath of trees ablaze. Enraged at the groups reckless disorganization, Piggy tells them furiously that one of the littlest boys was playing over by the fire and now is missing. The boys are crestfallen and shocked, and Ralph is struck with shame. They pretend that nothing has happened.
Task 2
Ralph is initiative and ambitious.
Jack has desire to be elected as a leader. He had become the leader of the hunters.
Piggy yelled, whined about childishness and stupidity of the group.
Task 3
Task 1
While Ralph and Simon were trying to build hunts for the youngest boys others were doing nothing, just were playing in the lagoon. Jack was desired to kill the pig which he met in the first chapter…however he didnt manage to do it again with his hunters. The conflict between Ralph and Jack was growing up. They were so rude to each other. Simon went to the jungle to be alone in the peace for some time. He found a very beautiful glade with flowers, birds and butterflies.
Task 2
Ralph is workaholic, who is worried about others.
Jack is obsessed with killing a pig.
Simon stands on an entirely different plane from all the other boys. Simon embodies a kind of innate, spiritual human goodness that is deeply connected with nature and, in its own way, as primal as Jacks evil.
