With this board game you can practice QUESTION WORDS as well as the basic tenses (Simple Present, Present Continuous, Simple Past) in interrogative form.

You'll need dice and tokens. Print the board as it is, print and cut out the cards. Laminate if possible! To save ink, don't print the background and border. It looks nice anyway ;-)

Play in pairs or groups of four. The players throw the dice to move on the board. As they land on a square they pick up a card from the pile. They have to make a question using the question word they've landed on and information from the card. It's possible to make more than one questions using the information on each card. E.g. for the card that says "Ted didn't watch the football match last night because he fell asleep"

you could ask:

  •  Who didn't watch..?
  •  What didn't Ted watch?
  •  What did Ted do last night?
  •  Why didn't Ted watch...? etc

Students who cannot form a correct question, put the card at the pile of used cards and wait for their turn to try with a new card on the same square, without moving. If they get it right they can move when their turn comes again.

On squares marked with an "?" they make open questions.

Should they run out of cards before the game finishes, they can reuse the used ones. The same cards will be used in different ways on different squares anyway. For larger groups you might want to add some cards with your own sentences. This set, however,  is definitely enough for 2 players (or 2 teams).

As always, the first to reach the end (the house) wins.

Play and enjoy!!!
