1 My Native City
My native town is Mogilev. It׳s an ancient city as it was founded in 1267. Mogilev is situated on the banks of the river Dnieper and is very picturesque.
Mogilev is a town of culture and science. There are 3 universities, one non-state institute, several museums and theatres among which we can mention the Byalynitsky–Birulya Museum, the Local Lore Museum, the Puppet Theatre, The Drama Theatre and others. They make the life of the citizens varied and interesting.
Industrious and hard-working people live in Mogilev, a large industrial centre of Belarus. Chemical, automobile, light industries are highly developed in our city. Its enterprises produce agricultural machines, chemical fibre, lifts, footwear, clothing, textile and other goods.I am proud of my native city.

We are proud of its glorious past. There are a lot of memorial signs and monuments connected with the Great Patriotic War. One of them is the memorial in Buinitchy. There are a lot of streets in Mogilev associated with outstanding people who brilliantly served our Motherland. We can׳t but mention the names of our prominent citizens: Otto Shmidt, an arctic explorer and scientist, Maslenikov, the People׳s artist of Belarus, Turov, our prominent film director, Tanya Karpinskaya, a clandestine fighter executed by the fascists and many others.

To my mind, it’s more convenient to travel through a travel agency. You don’t need to think about the tickets, the hotel, excursions. The courier will do everything for you. As for me, I prefer a package tour when everything is planned.

I’ve never been abroad, but I was in Minsk several times. I’ve got relatives there, so I stayed with them and didn’t bother about the accommodation. The only difficulty was to buy tickets to the concert of my favourite group and to the football match. That’s why I asked my aunt to buy tickets for me in advance.
