“The importance of the media on the society”
In the world of today, media has become as necessary as food and clothing. It has played significant role in strengthening the society. Media is considered as "mirror" of the modern society, infect,it is the media which shapes our lives.
The purpose of the media is to inform people about current ,new affairs and to tell about the latest gossip and fashion. It tells about the people who are geographically divided. The role of media has become one way of trading and marketing of products and prejudices. The media claimed to be governed by righteousness and equity, but greed and self-aggrandizement has poisoned its virtues.
Media is in charge of :
1information
2education
3entertainment
4advertising
5correlation of parts of society
Society is influenced by media in so many ways. It is the media for the masses that helps them to get information about a lot of things and also to form opinions and make judgments regarding various issues! It is the media which keeps the people updated and informed about what is happening around them and the world. Everyone can draw something from it.
Media has had a bad effect on a generation, mainly because ,youth is strongly influenced by media. Teenagers and children wish to follow the people ,who get recognized and do what they do to get noticed. Sometimes, they focus on bad part of the media and strive to be a part of it. However, many are not succumbed to a life of crime! The media affects people's perspective. Too much intervention of media in everything is a matter of concern. Media can be considered as "watch dog" of political democracy. Through the ages, the emphasis of media on news has camouflaged. Media these days, tries to eye the news ,which could help them to sell the information that is gathered worldwide, so that they could pave a way of success and fame of their respective channels. Fm radios, newspapers, information found on net and television are the mass medias that serve to reduce the communication gap between the audience, viewers and the media world. For the sake of publicity and selling, important figures, their lifestyles are usually targeted. Unimportant and irrelevant news, that usually have no importance are given priority and due to a reason or the other ,they get onto the minds of the viewers and in this ways many a times, important political, economical and sociological news get neglected and gradually, lose their importance!
I believe,if the media identifies its responsibility and work sincerely and honestly ,then it can serve as a great force in building the nation.
Cities and technologies in the XXI-century
Technology makes it possible to telecommute, work from virtual offices and communicate with businesses and individuals across the globe. Flexible work schedules are popular because so many duties and responsibilities can be accomplished from an employee’s home or while the employee is traveling. The private sector initially became the test case for telecommuting arrangements, and the federal government followed suit in its attempt to be competitive with industry in attracting qualified candidates. Remote reporting relationships are also a factor of improved technology. Managers of team members who live and work in different cities, and even different countries is becoming more common areers in computer science and information technology continue to grow. Students in colleges, universities and technical institutes seeking careers in this industry will likely be recruited upon graduation. According to U.S. News & World Report, jobs in this field are among the top 10 careers, stating computer software engineers are in demand because “The work of designing, building, maintaining, and integrating those increasingly complex systems continues to be one the fastest-growing corners of the job market.” The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports indicate that occupations in computer science and information technology will add more than 785,000 new jobs from 2008 to 2018. Statisticians predict the technology field will expand exponentially because of the demand for state of the art technology products.

Ecology is the greatest unhappiness that humanity made
Human ecology is the discipline that inquires into the patterns and process of interaction of humans with their environments. Human values, wealth, life-styles, resource use, and waste, etc. must affect and be affected by the physical and biotic environments along urban-rural gradients. The nature of these interactions is a legitimate ecological research topic and one of increasing importance. he ecosystems of planet Earth are coupled to human environments. Ecosystems regulate the global geophysical cycles of energy, climate, soil nutrients, and water that in turn support and grow natural capital (including the environmental, physiological, cognitive, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of life). Ultimately, every manufactured product in human environments comes from natural systems.[28] Ecosystems are considered common-pool resourcesbecause ecosystems do not exclude beneficiaries and they can be depleted or degraded.[57] For example, green space within communities provides sustainable health services that reduces mortality and regulates the spread of vector borne disease.[58] Research shows that people who are more engaged with regular access to natural areas have lower rates of diabetes, heart disease and psychological disorders.[59] These ecological health services are regularly depleted through urban development projects that do not factor in the common-pool value of ecosystems.[60][61]
One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. Many scientists believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is having a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this could be very dangerous for human life. This essay will examine the problem of global warming and suggest some ways of solving the problem. Many problems could result from global warming. One of the biggest problems is rising sea level. This could result in the flooding of low lying coastal areas and cities, such as Egypt, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. Some countries might even disappear completely! Another problem caused by global warming is changes in weather patterns. Many areas of the world are experiencing increased hurricanes, floods, and other unusual weather. A third problem associated with global warming is the effect on animals. Fish populations could be affected, while some insects which spread disease might become more common. There are several things we can do to solve the problem of global warming. One solution is to stop producing C02. We can do this by switching from oil, coal and gas to renewable energy. Another solution is to plant more trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, which is not a greenhouse gas. A third solution is to use less energy and to recycle more products. Generating electricity is one of the main sources of carbon dioxide. If we use less electricity, we will produce less C02.In conclusion, if we make small changes now in the way we live, we can avoid huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this threat.
Higher Education in the XXI century
Higher Education is one of the most important phenomenons in the
21st century. It is undergoing some major transformations and developments which are mainly effected by Globalization. Such as, international education, global capitalism, spread of culture and media, trade and work. Thus, its crucial to interpret the term of Globalization, which becomes a major backdrop of other phenomenon, including high education. Certainly, higher education provides prerequisite skills and higher life opportunities to people. However, the education system today is facing some challenges. There is over-education and over- supply of educational institution and the change of the global labour market.
Higher education provides more chances for people to obtaining jobs. People who graduated from university are highly employable due to their wealth knowledge, creativity and ability of solving problems. According to the research of Yue et al. (2004) The level of education level has a significantly positive impact on successful job seeking. The higher the education level, the greater the probability of success. Which indicated that higher education make a positive effective to people in job seeking as well as working in a favorable position. The reputation of the higher education institution also has a significant and positive impact on employment. Graduates from key universities have greater employment probabilities than their counterparts from ordinary universities. The employment rate of graduates of public institutions is significantly higher than for private institutions. (Li, 2008, p8) Moreover, a good paper qualification helps you attract the attention of the boss.
Cash-free society
Throughout history there has been much speculation about a cashless society. With a cashless society in the near future there are many benefits, as well, as many negative implications. Society without cash will lose the benefits of the most liquid asset in the world. Without cash there would be no instant payments for goods and services. It is important that, if society moves toward a cash free economy, the benefits must out weigh the negative aspects in the end. There are major social and economic benefits to a cashless society such as reduction in cash related crimes and monetary benefits. There are major negative implications with a cashless society such as privacy issues and losing the liberty of cash. A cashless society could only be implemented by the government since the government is the organization that prints and controls the supply of cash in society. With the implementation of a cash free society the major government agencies, such as, the IRS, FBI, and CIA would be in total control. The main issue of having a cashless society is whether the benefits would outweigh disadvantages.
The main disadvantages of a cashless society consist of privacy issues and computer hackers. One of the main issues regarding the implementation of a smart card/chip that would record and control all financial transactions electronicallyis the assault on privacy. With all private monetary data exposed to government officials many citizens may believe that the government has substantial power over society by having access to these types of confidential information. Another major disadvantage with a cashless society is the risk of computer hackers. Computer experts, working for themselves or for hire, might alter our records, create fictitious millionaires, set up dummy companies, and so on. In short, they could create an electronic underground society as well as contribute to the issue of identity theft. Warwick attempts to persuade the reader that the major benefits...
The pros and cons of the digital technology
Have cellphones, computers, and other forms of technology changed
our standards of living? The progression of technology has made many
aspects of our lives easier than the day of our parents, and their parents
before them. Technology affects our everyday lives in various ways,
although in spite of their benefits, there are many flaws within the process
of artificial intellegence. However, despite these flaws, technology helps the
world more then it is hurting it.Even though we count on our digital life to help us navigate through reality, it does have a few negative effects on society. Daily life back in our parents day, involved a lot of physical activity, but now people have more leisure at hand and in the process have avoided the urge for activity and
exercise. People have also become very dependant on technology to do
their work for them, they rely more on machines than human intellect. One
of the biggest downfalls to the rise of artificial intelligence, is that it has
pushed the unemployment rate through the roof because of the new
technology being faster and cheaper to maintain then the average working
person. Have we ever thought that a single chip would replace an entire
assembly line of workers? Technology also relies heavily upon electricity,
and if we were to lose electricity and or if certain computers were to fail,
society wouldn't run properly because of how it has built up to be. Even
though we may be able to enjoy all the pricey luxuries technology offers, we
miss out on the little priceless joys of life. Research states that there are many effective usages for modern day technologies, ways were not even able to see. Such as the rapid development of computers and robots. Which has made manufacturing a whole lot more efficient,
Babies are the best language learners in the world
There are many ways how children acquire language according to many scholars. As discussed above, the acquisition of language is very complex; many scholars have studied and researched it meticulously.
Behaviourists believe that organisms come into the world as "blank slates." That means that when babies of all species are born into the world they do not have any knowledge whatsoever; they do not know anything and they can't do anything. They believe that the process of learning has only occurred if there has been a change in behaviour. Also, behaviourists basically study the relationship between stimuli and responses, and actual mental process. In the 1950s, the classical conditioning paradigm was used to account for how words acquired emotional meaning. (Jay, 2003). Language was viewed as a kind of verbal behaviour and it was proposed that children learn language through imitation, reinforcement, analogy, and similar processes. (Fromkin, Rodman and Hyams, 2003). Another suggestion is that babies are able to learn language because of "simplified" language talked by the adults. This language sometimes called 'motherese' or child directed speech (CDS). The role of the environment of the babies in facilitating language acquisition is emphasized by this theory.
On the other hand, there is another theory which has shaped the world of language acquisition which has been proposed by Noam Chomsky. He has critically reviewed the behaviourists' theories and successfully challenged its assumptions. He believed that children's potential for language was an inborn or innate mental capacity. (Jay, 2003). This theory has created the 'Innateness Hypothesis'. Linguists believe that children are equipped with an innate template or blueprint for language which is called the Universal Grammar (UG). Chomsky argued that children's patterns of language are too systematic and cannot be the product of parents' operant conditioning (imitation, reinforcement and etc.) He also came out with the idea of language acquisition device (LAD) which help infants to acquire the language. This explains the transformation of a corpus of speech, i.e. a set of utterances (some grammatical, some not) into a complex grammatical system.
Advantage of reading newspapers at a more advanced level
The newspaper is the most powerful of all the organs of expression of the news and views about men and the things. Newspapers are regarded by economists as a necessity of modern life. With the growth of literacy and the development of the means of communication they are playing a very important part in society.
There are many advantages of reading the newspapers. Firstly the newspapers keep us in touch with the current world affairs. Without them we cannot know the important news even of our own town or village. It extends the bounds of our knowledge and makes us feel that we are a part of a living world. The leading newspapers are in touch with the different part of the world through certain press agencies. They supply them news from every part of the world.
Secondly a great deal of information is supplied to us by the newspapers. Important decisions of law courts are published for the benefit of his own liking. Commercial news are published for the businessmen. Lovers of Radio and the Cinema can look up in them the daily programs of these entertainments. The advertisements help the people to buy things. The unemployed can look up the wanted columns for vacant job.
Thirdly newspapers ventilate the grievances of the public and form the public opinion. They keep the public and the government in close contact. The subject matters of the leading articles in the newspapers. The rules come to know of the desire of the people through newspapers. The people get aware of the policies and schemes of the government through this agency.
Lastly newspapers have their educative value also. Readers of a good newspaper are more intelligent alert and better informed than scholars. Newspapers help us in disseminating good ideas. In newspapers we find reviews on newly published books. We read accounts of discoveries and scientific research. There are useful articles on every topic. In short newspaper play vital role in our life.
Alcohol should be illegal Alcohol consumption should be banned
A dizzying array of research suggests alcohol can have both good and bad effects, but making sense of such studies all comes down to preaching about the evil effects of alcohol and the substantial impact on our health. Alcohol is more than just an ordinary beverage. Alcohol's consequences weigh more than any of its positives. This debate points out few of the reasons as to why alcohol should be banned.
Firstly, alcohol should be illegal because it is just as dangerous as any other drug. Alcoholism follows a characteristic course with known physical, psychological, and social symptoms. Once addicted, the alcoholic continues to consume alcohol despite the destructive consequences. Alcohol has a long-term effect on both the body and the mind that will ultimately force the person into a state of self-denial which will render him or her practically useless and almost without dignity.
Secondly, there are a number of problems associated with drinking alcohol, such as brain damage, problems with walking, hazy vision, and slurred speech. The use of alcohol also affects the brain; the impairments will be realized after the first and/or the continued consumption of it but the symptoms disappear once the drinking stops (Stand ridge, 2004). Some of the common disorders that have been associated with alcohol in relation to brain injury include the risk of being permanently impaired. Excessive alcohol consumption can also lead to destruction of brain cells and thus, results in a complete degradation. It has also been established that high doses of alcohol can cause the loss of sensation and being unable to achieve orgasm, which ends up causing impotence. It also interferes with the functioning of the immune system, making the body unable to combat infectious diseases due to its long-term effect impeding the use of the immune cells. Alcohol also limits the absorption of nutrients and contributes to suffering from malnutrition in those...
I lost my heart in
t was a cool October night and I was laying on my bed half asleep, and all I hear are moans of pain coming
from the other room. I get up off my bed to realize the cries were coming from my mother. I couldn't help but start crying as I saw her in pain. She could barely breathe. I was very scared so i called 911. I didn't know what else to do. I felt so useless as she laid there in pain waiting for help. The ambulance finally arrived. They examined her, and realized she had phnemonia, but since she also had critical asthma it made it worst. They said she might have caught it because she may have not been taking care of herself very well. The paramedics decided that she had to be taken to the hospital. I was crying the whole way to the hospital. As they took my mother to the Emergency Room, they asked me to wait outside. At that moment I felt so alone. The hours I waited felt like days, extremely long days.
Five hours later I was told I could see her. It was killing me to see her in pain. The doctors told me that they were going to keep her in the hospital. I didn't want to leave her, but the doctors wouldn't let me stay with her. I decided to go home and get some sleep since I was up the whole night. Once I got home I took a shower and as i was getting ready to get some rest the phone rings. It was my father telling me to hurry up and get to the hospital. My mother had gotten worse. She was in shock and wasn't able to respond to anyone. She also wasn't responding to any of the medication they had given her. The doctor told us that she could keep giving her medications, but if her body does not respond to them there was no more she can do. I started crying and going crazy. I couldn't believe this was happening to my mother. All we could do was pray and wait for a miracle.
