The history of my business
This is the series of business decisions I would prefer to make which hopefully will lead me to the TRIUMPH. Here are my steps:
I am a student of art college. For last two winters I have had holiday jobs as skiing instructor. Two seasons ago I started to sell distinctive items of jewellery made to my own design. They were very popular and I have earned $3,000. And now I am to decide what I should do...
1) Unfortunately I have to give up my art course at college and concentrate on the jewellery business.
Now I realize that more money than those $3,000 which I've got are needed in order to expand my business.
2) My decision is to go to the bank and ask them for a loan.
But the bank says that I can't have a loan without a business plan which includes budget, sales, and cashflow forecast.
3)I produce a business plan which is likely to be accepted by the bank.
Here are my congratulations! The bank had accepted my business plan. Now I have enough money to invest in my company's future!
4) I invest it in a niw workshop and equipment and work on perfecting my designs and a characteristic new logo.
Now a fashion magazine writes an article about me. And I become approached by small shops and provate buyers and jewellery collectors. I have to decide whether to expand or condolidate.
5)The option I pick is to raise awareness of my name by investing money in advertising on loval radio.
Unfortunately these my precious actions have cost me a lot of money and put the future of my company in danger.
6)Now I need to rethink my operation completely. With a new business manager I choose to adapt my designs as cheaper dress jewellery. My sales strategy is to hire people to sell the products at parties of their friends.
Finally I see tha the direct marketing concept is a brilliant success! Many women have been searching for bold, well-produced dress jewellery at a reasonable price. I become rich. I am the topic of many business magazine articles.

How can I charecterize myself?
To start with, I would agree that time is the most valuable resouce of each and every one of us. Unlike money that is impossible to earn it or to make its amount bigger per day. So using your time efficently is the main ability the one who aims at success should acquire.
Personally, I cannot say that I am a "Tomorrow" type of person. As a rule, I don't postpone decisions and, if possible, take them on the spot, as I know that there are more to come. I understand that it is rather insensible to put off the most uninterresting or hard work to the last day before deadline. It is clear to me, that this day will come, and I won't be able to fullfill all the tasks I've previously chosed to postpone.
I also cannot define myself as a "Disorganized" type. Although I constantly have a pile of paper and books all scattered around the table, I am good at timing and getting to importand meetings in a good time. But I can say, that there definitely are some features in me that will define me as a "Poor delegator" type of person. I lack in ability to place my confidence in sombody. It is always much more secure for me to rely on myself only. But I hope to change this as soon as possible. It is quite understandable, that sometimes a person should take a proper rest, delegating some of his duties to somebody ready to help.
