Jeeves and Wooster: Christmas adventures.
Act I. Квартира Вустера. Гостиная. Утро. Фоном играет главная музыкальная тема из сериала. Вустер сидит на кресле, пьет чай. Дживс читает газету у окна.
Wooster: "Jeeeves!"
Jeeves: "Yes, sir."
W: "Jeeves, do you know that Christmas day is coming?"
J: "I, know, sir."
W: "And... What will we do on Christmas holydays?"
J: "Oh, nothing special, I think. You will go to the gentleman's club, as usual, and I will see my friends in the club for a gentleman's servants."
W: "It’s so boring, Jeeves. I don't want to celebrate this Christmas as usual!"
Неожиданно звонит телефон. Дживс поднимает трубку.
J: "Hello! It's a Wooster's house."
Voice from the phone: "Good morning! May I hear mister Wooster?"
J: "Yes, mom. Wait a minute, please. (в сторону) Sir, you are being asked by some woman."
W: "Oh, yes, Jeeves. Give me the phone! (в сторону) Huh, who is this woman?"
На одной сцене – Дживс, Вустер и Мадам. Сцена разделена на две части - на одной – комната Вустера, на другой – мадам, говорящая по телефону.
Madam: "Hello, Bertie! I am your aunt from Russia, Anna Morozova. Do you remember me?"
W(удивленно): "What? Oh, sorry. I don't know that I have any aunts, especially in Russia! Nice to meet you!"
Aunt Anna: "Nice to meet you, too. So, I have a special offer! I want to invite you to my Christmas party, in Moscow. Your aunt Agatha said that you, Bertie, will be free on Christmas holidays. What do you think of my invitation?"
W: "It's amazing! Of course, I will come to you! Thank you!"
AA: "Good. I’m looking forward to seeing you, Bertie. Goodbye!"
W: "Goodbye!"
Вустер кладет трубку, садится. Дживс смотрит на него.
W: "Jeeves, did you hear my conversation? What about Christmas holidays in Russia?"
J: "It's a good idea, sir."
W: "Do you know Russia is so far away from England?"
Дживс улыбается в ответ. Все уходят.
Act II. Москва, Красная площадь. Дживс и Вустер гуляют вдоль площади в ожидании русского переводчика. Переводчик бежит к ним с книгами.
W: "This Square is so large, isn't it?"
J: "Yes, sir. And so marvelous and grand, as well."
W: "I think, I will turn into snowman if we don’t see the translator!"
J: "I agree with you, sir."
Translator (запыхаясь): "Hello, misters!"
W: "Hello!"
J: "Good morning!"
T (говоря с большими паузами): "I am your translator. My name is Martha. Where are we going to? What will we do?"
W: "Pleased to meet you! We want to go to my aunt's house, on this address..." (дает записку)
T (смотря на записку): "Ah, we need to take… marshrutka."
W: "What is the marshrutka, Jeeves?"
J: "Unfortunately, I don't know, sir."
T: "Marshrutka is a... (смотрит в книге) Is a bad bus with little space and full of angry people."
W: "l'm scared, Jeeves!"
J: "I think, the Russians are more friendly than your aunts in Britain"
W: "I believe it's true."
T: "On marshrutka people feel themselves like шпроты!"
W: "Jeeves, what is shprotie?"
J: "I think, it's Russian idiom, sir."
W: "Russians are so witty!"
T: "We have to go to the... остановка, то есть to the bus stop!"
W: "Oh, yes, let's go!"
Act III. Дом тети Анны. Вечер начинается, собираются гости. Дживс, Вустер, переводчик, тетя Анна и другие.
AA: "Hello, Bertie! I'm glad to see you here!"
W: "Hello! Me too!"
AA: "Good afternoon, Jeeves!"
J: "Good afternoon, mom."
AA: "How were you flight?"
W: "Oh, we were like shprotie!"
Все смеются. Входят в гостиную. Праздничный стол накрыт. За ним сидят две женщины и молодой человек в военной форме.
AA: "Bertie, I want to meet you with my best friends!"
W: "Oh, please, I will be glad. (в сторону) Jeeves, I don't like it..."
J: "Don't worry, sir. Let's have some fun."
AA: "Bertie, meet Alla Petrovna Pirogova and Sveta, her daughter."
W: "My pleasure."
AA: "They don't speak English very well. I can translate their talk."
W: "Oh, no, thank you! I'll call my translator. Martha, can you help us?"
T: "Yes, I can!"
AA: "Good."
Alla Petrovna: "Ну здравствуйте! (Обнимает Дживса и Вустера)
(в сторону) Дочка, поздоровайся!"
(Света приветствует гостей)
AP: "А кто из вас тот самый Вустер?"
T: "She is asking who Mr Wooster is?"
W (Дживсу): "I’m scared again…"
“Well, I am Mr Wooster, Bertie Wooster."
T (указывая на Вустера): "Он - Берти Вустер"
Sveta(говорит Алле Петровне): "Хм, он какой-то худой, может, болеет чем-то?"
AP: "Зато богатый! Хотя, второй получше будет. Эх, ладно, проводи их за стол."
T: "She said that you, Mr Bertie, are skinny and that Jeeves looks better than you do."
W: "Oh, Jeeves, you are favored by Mrs Pirogova."
J: "I'm irresistible, sir."
Act IV. За праздничным столом. Дживс, Вустер, молодой человек в военной форме.
W: "Who is this man, Jeeves? I think, we are familiar."
J: "Yes, this is Mr Hopkins. We met him in the Lake District last summer."
W: "Of course, Mr Hopkins, I remember. He looks so sad."
W (подходит к Хопкинсу): "Hello, Jack!"
Hopkins: "Hello, Bertie! It's been a long time! How are you?"
W: "I'm fine. And you?"
H: "Oh, Bertie, I'm so unhappy. I love Sveta, but her mother hates me and don't want us to get married because I'm not rich."
W: "It's a pity!"
J: "Sir, you can help Mr Hopkins if you give some money to him."
H: "Thank you, Jeeves! It's wonderful! We will go away with Sveta!"(уходит)
W: "Jeeves, why did you say that?"
J: "I think, it will be right."
Act V. Все за праздничным столом.
AA: "Bertie, where are your gifts for Sveta?"
W: "What?"
AA: "Your wedding gifts. You want to marry Sveta, don't you?"
W: "I don't have enough money for shopping, especially for wedding."
AA: "Whaat?"
J: "Yes, mom. Mr Hopkins has covered our expenses."
AP(спрашивает Марту-переводчика): "Что они там говорят?"
Т: "Короче, денег у него нет. Вас обманули!"
АР: "Вот и доверяй этим англичанам! Доча, нас обманули!"
Sveta: "Я же говорила, что ничего не получится. Да и я не хочу замуж не по любви!"
AA: "Mr Hopkins?"
H: "Yes, I have paid for their traveling."
J: "And Mr Hopkins has a big mansion in Manchester."
AA: "I am so surprised."
AP: "Что они там говорят про Хопкинса?"
T: "Что он - олигарх и имеет свой футбольный клуб."
AP: "Ничего себе! Этот вояка - богач!"
Sveta: "Неужели это правда! Я как во сне!"
H (подходит ко Свете с кольцом): "Please, marry me!"
S: "Yes, то есть да!"
W: "It's a good chance to sing a song!"
Все поют
Act VI. Все те же
Неожиданно в комнату входит тетя Агата.
Agatha: "Bertie! What have you done?"
W: "Oh, no, Jevees. This is the end. This is aunt Agatha. Run away!"
J: "Yes, sir."
Act VII. Красная площадь. Рождественская ночь. Фоном играет праздничная музыка. Дживс и Вустер.
W: "Happy Christmas, Jeeves!" (дарит подарок)
J: "Happy Christmas, sir!"(тоже дарит подарок)
W: "I want to stay in Russia! Winter Olympic Games will be held here soon!"
J: "It's a wonderful idea!"
W (открывает подарок): "Oh, it's a hat! I like it! Thank you, Jeeves!"
