Music plays a great role in my life, I’m totally sure that music helped me to go through complicated life situations, it supported me when no one was around, it brings smile on my face, it can change a mood and encourage, music can keep memories, it mean a lot for me.
Music and mood are inherently linked. Scientists continue to uncover how these influences occur at a neural level. Studies prove that the music we listen to engages a wide range of neurobiological systems that affect our psychology. We all know the feeling of finding just the right song for that specific moment in time. Music is one of the most powerful neurobiological tools we have to change our mood, mindset, and behavior.
I choose song ‘Move Along’ by The All-American Rejects; it’s probably the closest and special for my heart and soul song. From my teenage years this song encouraged me to keep going and never give up even when everything was going totally wrong.
"Move Along" is a song by American rock band The All-American Rejects, released on February 27, 2006. "Move Along" was written by Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter. Wheeler explained that the song is "An anti-suicide message song about believing in oneself and persevering in the face of problems.”
Also in my presentation included video what is also can be used as tool in such therapy.
The music video for "Move Along" was directed by Marc Webb and shot in December 2005 in Los Angeles. It revolves around lead singer and bassist Tyson Ritter, standing absent-minded going through a series of personal problems (e.g. relationship issues, job stress, losing a football game etc.) as the scene jump-cuts quickly with him standing in the same position while wearing various kinds of clothes and situating in different locations. Nevertheless lyrics motivate us to keep on going, it shows that everyone can face something what can look like “the end of life” and “no way out” but it’s not a reason to give up, song help to understand that whatever can happen but you as a person have your own strength for living your life through situations.

This song can be used with youth and teen people. As soon as that age is very sensitive period because they are facing not only physical changes but also emotional and mental development. In the most cases teens usually are hardly dealing with fails and problems, that’s why I decided that this song can be motivation to go along complicated situations. Personally I was using same therapy for myself, even nowadays I listen this song to motivate myself not to give up and avoid depression mood.
